Set a big money goal

This is a great quick video on making New Year's Resolutions versus setting goals.

The point that really hit home with me is paying attention to those ideas when they come. I have the same ideas that show up over and over again. However, I've ignored them as I pursue something that seems more 'reasonable'. Who am I to decide that? Maybe, just maybe, if the idea comes back to me over and over, the Universe is trying to tell me something? I think it's time to take action.

How about you? Do you have an idea (or ideas) that keep coming up that you haven't taken action on? Maybe this is the time to do it. Just take that first step and see where it takes you.

Perfect Timing

The end of the year was crazy busy for us. The kids have their birthday at the end of November. It usually falls right around Thanksgiving. Then Dax and I leave for a week long conference in Las Vegas and then the Christmas holidays and all the activities that brings. That's my excuse for the absence here anyway. :0)

While we were in Las Vegas the greatest thing happened and I just wanted to share.

We had been in a casino playing a slot machine and lost about $100 in about 90 seconds. As we were heading out of the casino to our actual destination (I don't even remember where we were actually headed) Dax was talking about how he believes to win but that he just keeps feeling let down. Especially in that situation. He was telling me that he understands why people lose faith and hope. That after someone believes for so long and sees nothing that it's easy to lose faith. On and on he went for our whole walk through the casino.

When we got to the doors and walked outside the light was red so we couldn't cross the street and had to stand and wait. We were standing there for about 30 seconds when we start hearing all this noise coming down the sidewalk. Turns out is was a line of about 10-15 people carrying signs and shouting out praises about believing in God and having faith. One of the ladies got out of the line and walked up to us and handed us a pamphlet and then got back in line and they continued on their way.

We were the only people in the big crowd standing there that they gave anything to. As they walked off, I told Dax that it was apparent that God was listening and that was his sign to just keep believing.

We've been to Las Vegas about 20 times over the years and that was the first time we have seen anything like that or had anything like that happen. It certainly was perfect timing!

Check this out

I really enjoyed this, so I wanted to share it.

It's a blog posting from Mind Valley. Just click here and see what he has to say about goal setting. If you're anything like me, that seems to be a daunting task but it doesn't have to be.

Mind Valley also has an app called Omvana that is great. You can use it to download music, speeches, meditations, etc. If you have a smart phone, you should give it a try too.

OK. That's all I have for today.

If you try either one of these, please let me know what you think.

Oh, and just so you know, I am not a paid spokes person. I am just sharing with you the things that I find helpful/useful.

Wishing you the happiest of New Years!!

It finally hit me......gratitude

I read a lot of law of attraction books & articles and listen to a lot of interviews and lessons. And I get the whole gratitude thing. Changing my focus, remembering to be grateful, looking for new things to be grateful for.

I even keep gratitude journals.....currently I'm keeping one that is devoted solely to the reasons that I love my husband. I'm doing it for a year and will give it to him on our anniversary next year. It keeps me focused on his good qualities, which means that I don't start focusing on the things that drive me crazy.

I get it.

So this morning I realize that even though I think 'I get it', I didn't realize just how valuable and important gratitude really is. And just how little of it I am actually giving.

Here's how my Ah-Ha moment happened:

My children's birthday is today. So, for a good part of the week I've been running around like a crazy person trying to make sure that things are ready for their birthday......not to mention all of the running around that also happens at this time of year because Thanksgiving is next week and then the day after that my husband and I leave town for work and will be gone for 10 days. There's so much to do at home and the office......so I've been busy to say the least. Going to bed late, getting up a couple hours before anyone else, and trying to squeeze things in where I can.

Last night I wanted to blow up balloons so that I could sneak them into the kids' rooms so that their floors would be covered this morning when they woke up. Well, as it turned out, I didn't get 5 minutes to myself last night to get anything done. There were cupcakes to be made and frosted (two of them promised to bring them to one of their classes) along with dinner and other things....and I'm fighting getting the crud that my daughter had that kept her sick for over a week.

This morning when I got up I blew up as many balloons as I had time to but it didn't amount to much so I just put them in the hallway that all of their rooms open onto. I also had to get their presents wrapped, cookies baked for their lunches, and breakfast made.

Because one of our daughters will be out of town starting right after school today, birthday festivities had to happen this morning before school. That made things even more frantic. But, I'm getting it all handled.........and then someone complained. And then another. They weren't big complaints, mind you, but they cut me to the core.

As I was getting all of the cupcakes into the box to be transported to school, I was thinking about all of the craziness I had been through while everyone else was relaxing or sleeping. How I had gotten up early in order to keep the presents a secret (some of them I made) and how I had not once run anyone off when I could have been working on the other stuff. I thought about how I had put them before my own needs and desires because I wanted them to be happy.

I wondered if it was too much to ask that one of them say thank you.

You see, all I wanted was a little GRATITUDE.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks!!

If I wanted to be recognized and appreciated for the little bit (in the whole scheme of things) that I had done, what must our Creator think about our lack of gratitude for the unending things that have been and are being done for us? How must it hurt that we, as a population in general, aren't grateful? The thought of it in that context is just heartbreaking. I don't want to contribute to that kind of numbed thinking and ungrateful expectation anymore!

So, now that I have this different perspective, gratitude and the giving of it has taken on a whole new meaning. If I think that I need appreciation for what I've done, then I owe so much more appreciation to other people for what they've done. But, even more than that, I owe a world of gratitude to the Creator.....for this world!

A Quick Read

Lets get this week started off on a high note.

Here's a resource for a quick little read called The Come Back. It's only 15 pages and it's yours for free - no commitments or anything. :0)

I read through it and then re-read some parts.  I find that when I read something like this, certain things stand out for me. I think it's answers/inspiration for things that I'm currently trying to work through. And, later when I re-read it something different will stand out that I hadn't taken any notice of in the prior reading. I'm always grateful that one source can hold so many lessons. Then when I realize just how many sources are available it's just mind boggling.

So, I am sharing with you this short article. It is me giving, from right where I am, and I hope that it brings great things for you and for the person from whom I received it. So go. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful and prosperous week!

Just What I Needed

I don't know who did this originally so I don't know to whom I owe the credit.

I saw this today and it spoke to me. I have some relatives that in (or out, at this point I'm not really sure) of my life. Their actions have caused a lot of hurt and anger to my family. Not so much to me, but it hurts me to see how it makes my husband and children feel. More often than not I get tangled in the emotions and let them run free. And, as we all know, if I let those negative emotions just continue on their spiral, I'll just wind up with even more of what I do not want for me or my family. I needed to be reminded to be thankful. ALWAYS!!! Even if the only reason I can find is because it shows me what I don't want, then that's the reason I need to go with. Either way, it's important to find the gratitude and to hang on with both hands. I know I'll be better off for it.

My hope today is that by sharing this it will help someone else and continue and multiply the gratitude.

Have a great weekend, y'all!

New Resource

As I've stated before, I really like Margaret Lynch. I use a lot of her tapping videos from YouTube and overall like the way she teaches on attracting abundance into your life.

The good news is that she has a new book out TODAY! on The Five Kinds of Money.

If you click here you can see a video talking a little bit about it.

I for one, can't wait to get my hands on this book. I should have pre-ordered it, but things have been so busy at home and at the office that I just let time get away from me. I think in the LOA world, it's important to take action before opportunities are lost.

So don't wait! LOL

If you order the book, let me know what you think of it and of Margaret. I'll be interested to hear some other points of view.

Have a great day!

Creating Abundance in Your Life Now

Creating abundance isn’t always done with savvy business decisions, wise investments or betting on the right horse at the track. While those things can be part of making financial gains because they show belief in the act of attempting to get more money, it’s not necessary for you have money to begin creating abundance.

If that goes against most teachings when it comes to money, especially the cliché that it takes money to make money, then it’s time to start viewing money and prosperity differently. In those examples, each act required money to start with. But if you look closer, they have something else in common.

Each of those acts has the person basically acting on the faith that they can benefit from what they’re doing. The person betting on the horse has faith that his horse can win and give him a financial gain. The person investing into a business or the stock market has faith that the decision can make him money.

Each one is aware that there is a risk in using these methods of creating abundance. Yet they do it in the faith that it can work for them, and in the hope that it will. It’s that act of faith and that belief that’s much more important in those examples than the fact that they had money to lose to start with.

Not everyone who makes a risky business decision will see financial gain. And every horse cannot win. So there’s no way that every person, no matter how much belief they have, can make money in this way. Yet creating abundance in your own life is possible, and it doesn’t require, like in the case of the horse better, than others lose so that you may win.

First and foremost is the belief that the universe provides abundantly. There is more than enough for everyone. No one has to go hungry so that another can eat; no one has to lose so that another can win. There is enough for everyone, but everyone does not know this and this is why so many have too little. You must know this as reality and not believe appearances as reality. There is a story behind everything you see that you may not know.

Once you start to believe that there is enough for you without it meaning that there will be less for someone else, then you free the way for yourself to start creating abundance in your life. And once you believe that it’s not necessary to spend money to make money, you’ve cleared another hurdle that holds many back.

By simply allowing yourself to view money and prosperity differently, and choosing to believe that what you think can affect what you have, you can change your life. If you think positive thoughts, you will attract positivity. If you let yourself believe that you can have what you want, you open the door to achieving it.

Practice every day deciding that you can have the things that you believe you can have. Using positive thought and this type of belief are the most important steps in creating abundance in your life.

Concious Creation

Conscious creation is the process of making a conscious effort to create the life you want. It's more than just changing your life. It's creating your own reality. We each have our own reality that other people don't really know or understand, and we each have the ability to create that reality into anything we want.

Every morning when we get out of bed, we set into motion the creation of our reality, good or bad. And through conscious creation, we can shift that reality in either a better or worse direction. It's a choice that we make...daily, sometimes even by the hour or minute.

At the heart of this was of living is the belief that we all create our own reality, even if we don't realize it. So that when something bad happens to you, it was actually your choice to have that thing happen. Even if it was an unknowing choice. That IS the Law of Attraction.

If you suffer serious illness, you have brought that into your life though choice, whether you know it or not. This is where many people have a problem with the LOA. However, what occupies your mind is what you bring into your life, good or bad. Like I've said before, if you are afraid of having cancer and worry about it often, and that fear causes you to make certain choices in your life, like the things you eat, etc., then that fear is occupying your conscious mind AND your subconscious mind. It is in this way that the very thing you fear, you are bringing into your life/reality. But, by gaining control of your thoughts, you can change things and bring what you truly want into you reality, whether it's health, prosperity, or overall happiness.

The first step in creating your own reality is through your beliefs. Let's say that right now you believe that most people are selfish and only out to get what they can for themselves without regards to other people. Your belief is creating that reality in your life, so most people in your life will be just this way.

If you shift your belief to one that says that most people are good at heart and want to do the right thing, most people in your life will fit that description. If you belief that you will never get out of debt, you probably never will. But, if you wake up each day using conscious creation to believe that you will have financial freedom, you can make it happen, thus shifting your reality.

It often helps to make a visual representation of your goal. For example, if one of your goals is to own a certain kind of car, then find a picture of it and place it where you will see it often, like on the refrigerator, bathroom mirror, or cabinet door. Looking at it daily and feeling the true feelings of having it now will help to keep this goal active in your mind, thus keeping it coming to you. To work with several goals at the same time, you can use a presentation board or a photo album to organize your goals and keep them present in your conscious thoughts daily. The 'system' you use doesn't matter. It only matters that you use what works to keep your focus positive and on the life you truly desire.

Letting go of Procrastination

I know that for me, all too often I fail to act. I'm full of great ideas. Sometimes they keep me awake at night as I work them all out in my mind. I decide on each step that should be taken along the way and how each action should work.

And that's where it ends. I think about it and think about it until a new 'great idea' takes its place and the whole process repeats. There is far too little inspired action.

Sometimes I do take action, but those times are too few and much too far between. I get stuck somewhere between fear, laziness, and overwhelm.

I've tapped along with Brad Yates on several different things, but I've recently started following along as he taps through letting go of the fear and procrastination. I started doing it in the mornings before work and then in the afternoon on my way home. It has really helped to be more motivated and to get things done. And when you're taking action and getting things done, even if it is cleaning your house, that action matters. There isn't one grand action that will bring your desires, but there needs to be action. Even if it doesn't make sense to you and you can't see how it relates to your desires, still take action. You may need other things in your life in order before the good you want in your life is able to come to you.

So, here, give it a try:

And if you have the time, look at his other videos. I love his soft spoken style, the way he often includes a little humor, and especially how I feel after a round of tapping.

Now, don't put it off. At least take this one step of action. Who knows where it may lead you next.

You don't always know why

When I am asking the Universe for something, I like to conclude with 'this or something better' because we don't always know how things with work out for us if we limit our asking to only what we know. I like to give the Universe the chance to do what is really best for me.

There are many situations in our lives where we are left wondering 'Why did that happen to me? I don't understand.' Sometimes we may get an answer, but so often we are left with no explanation and no clue as to why something has happened. It's at these times that we just have to depend on our faith and fall back on the belief that all things are happening for our highest good.

But, sometimes we get an answer and we get to see why something happened the way it did.

Many years ago, we were heading out of town with our children for a long weekend. From the very beginning, our kids have sat in the same car seats in the same spot in our car. Well, on this particular weekend two of them switched seats. (Note: They had never done it before and they never did it afterwards. They only did it this one time on this particular weekend.)

Well, we all got loaded up and headed out. About two hours into our drive, Abigail opened her car door. We usually had the back doors on the child safety setting so that those doors have to be opened from the outside. However, we had recently had company and had changed the setting and obviously overlooked putting it back on the safety setting.

So, we were driving down the highway at 70 miles per hour and she opened the door. Not all the way, but it was enough that the door wasn't closed tight anymore. We exited the highway and stopped on the side of the access road. I jumped out and closed her door and then we got back on our way.

Not two minutes down the road we came upon a pretty bad wreck. It had just happened. The police and ambulance hadn't even arrived yet. The people involved were still trying to wrap their brains around the fact that they had just had this wreck.

I know with every fiber of my being that if we hadn't stopped to close that door we would have been the ones involved in that wreck. The Universe had been at work hours before putting things in motion so that we would be stopped before that wreck happened and our children wouldn't have to be involved.

My point here is that there is a reason that things happen the way they do. Unfortunately, we may not always get to know what that reason is, but there is always a reason. Now, the people that were involved in that wreck may wonder why it happened to them, but maybe it was to spare my children since they were all adults. Or who knows, maybe one of them wanted a new car and that was how they got it. I don't know, and the truth of the matter is I don't need to know why. I only need to believe that it was for the highest good of everyone involved.

So the next time you're asking the Universe for the things that you most desire, remember that your desires involve countless people along the way. It's like a ripple effect in the water. Be sure to include a request for things to work for the highest good of everyone involved. And thanks for doing it, because it affects us all.

A Great Opportunity

I haven't yet gotten to the point of mentioning one of the people that I follow named Margaret Lynch. She has a great opportunity coming up soon for Stand Out Like a Rock Star classes. You can click on the link here or in the sidebar to find out more and go sign up.

I can't tell you how I found her. I have found that when I am led to things that are good for me, I often don't really know how I got there. You know, I click on a link for someone that I follow and something catches my attention in a sidebar so I click on it. That happens a few times and I don't remember where I've been, or how I got there. lol

I view that as divine guidance getting me to what I need to read, see, or learn. Sometimes when I don't pay attention in the first place, I find myself routed back to that place again and again. Funny how that works.

Anyway, if you're not familiar with Margaret, you can also find several videos by her on YouTube. She has all kinds of great information, insight, and tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) videos both on YouTube and on her own website. Go check it all out. You'll be glad you did.
